This page will help you decide what type of corral panel / round pen is right for you.
Round pen packages: All of our round pen packages are sold with the every available color and gate choice for that particular panel. The gate size chosen will effect the round pen's diameter by the amount shown in the choice.
When assembling your round pen from individual panels in our panels and gates section, the chart above will help you figure out how many panels you need to reach your desired diameter.
Comparing Panels: When comparing corral panels keep in mind that some companies will give you numbers that are only mildly accurate. For example, a panel sold as 16 gauge may only have a 16 gauge outer rail tubing, and be filled with 20 gauge tubing. The most important factors in determining a panel's construction quality are it's weight, tubing diameter, and what type of vertical bracing it uses. Drilled stays are vertical supports that are drilled and inserted through the panel's horizontal tubes. This provides the strongest type of construction. The next best are vertical Z braces. While Z braces are made from stamped sheet metal and can be dented, they provide better support than a tube brace that is welded to the outside of the horizontal rails. Just because a company sells powder coated products doesn't mean they do it right. Powder coating requires extensive material preparation that many companies just don't follow. Don't confuse powder coated panels with ordinary dip painted panels. Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish. The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is sprayed onto a surface to be coated. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven. The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality, and attractive finish.
Our 5' tall panels, from heaviest to lightest and their best applications:
Roundpens-n-More heavy duty galvanized panel: 100 pound 12' panel. Similiar in strength to a Priefert Premier panel, but lacking it's safety features and finish. Great cattle and rodeo panel.
Priefert Premier panel: 97 pound 12' panel. Superior powder coating with safety features including chain connections and fishhook shaped top corners. 3 color and 7 gate choices for added versatility. A great cattle or rough horse panel.
Priefert Utility panel: 58 pound 12' panel. Best Seller! All the safety features and color choices of the Premier panel but easier to move around. These panels are the best choice for the majority of horse owners looking for a safe round pen that will last.
Roundpens-n-More Galvanized Economy panel: 55 pound 12' panel. While not recommended for heavy abuse these panels offer a great value to the part time round pen user. They don't offer the safety features of a Priefert Utility panel, but are much cheaper.
Priefert Economy panel: 53 pound 12' panel. These panels carry the beautiful Priefert powder coated finish, but the single vertical brace provides less support than the galvanized economy panels above. Best suited for use in lighter applications.
Our 6' tall panels from heaviest to lightest and their best applications:
Priefert Rough Stock Arena Panel: 147 pound 12' panel. This panel is the newest addition to the family of Priefert panels. You may see it in use at PBR Professional Bull Riding events. Designed not to take any bull from the bulls and with horse safety in mind, there isn't a better panel on the market!
Roundpens-n-More Extra Heavy Duty Galvanized panel: 120 pound 12' panel. These panels are very tough. At about 120 pounds each you don't want to move them very often though. Great confinement or permanent rodeo area panel.
Priefert Hoss Panel: 79 pound 12' panel. Great choice for building a 6' tall round pen. These panels do not however have J-legs so some sinking may occur in soft soil, but some trainers prefer a straight leg panel.
Roundpens-n-More Galvanized Economy 6' tall panel: 65 pound 12' panel. This new choice is gaining popularity due to it's economical pricing. Similar to our 5' tall economy galvanized, but with the added height.
